How to enjoy Busan in 2 days trip

KTX는 웬만하면 주말은 항상 매진…
시간은 좀 더 걸리지만 버스는 잠도 잘 오고 자리확보가 쉬운편이다.
Okay, so KTX and SRT tend to be bloody difficult to book seats for the weekends unless you travel before 6am or after 10pm . Bus is another option, it takes longer but these days, Korean buses are pretty modern with spacious and comfortable seats and they are much easier for booking.
You can book for bus tickets using the app called ‘고속버스티머니’, the logo looks like this:

How to use 고속버스티머니 to book Seoul-Busan for foreigners:

TIP1) Busan-Seoul bus departs from East Seoul bus terminal, 동서울 in Korean. No other options in Seoul, just type 동서울 as departure. You have two options for Busan for arrival, West Busan 서부산(사상) and just Busan 부산.

TIP2) There are three types of buses, 프리미엄 (Premium) / 우등 (Superior) / 일반 (Standard). I recommend premium or superior for long distances.
– 프리미엄: 40,000KRW (Premium)
– 일반고속: 26,800KRW (standard)
– 심야우등: 44,000KRW (superior for night time)

TIP3) East Seoul Bus Terminal is placed right opposite of Gangbyeon station, line 2. Use the subway to get there. Buses for Busan arrivals are located bit further inside the terminal (you have to go up to the second floor and walk into the corridor and down the stairs again to another end) so make sure you arrive at least 10 minutes before the departure. 아이스라테가 단품으로는 안되고 2x커피 & 1xtea 세트메뉴로 있었다. 슈톨렌과 함께 한잔.
Not sure why but they do not sell one glass of ice latte, you have to order it as a set of 2 lattes and 1 tea.

부산 해리단길에 위치한 소품샵 카페, 구옥 빌라를 개조하여 감성적으로 꾸민공간이다. 민트와 분홍 조합이 예쁘고 소소하게 신경 쓴 포인트들이 눈에 보인다.
Rennovated old Korean villa into a cafe/shop, you can still feel the old style construction and spot the red bricks. Interesting “We Are Open” sign.

골목 사이로 주거공간과 식당, 상점들이 모여있는 특이한 장소를 발견!!!

사진으로 보니 뒤로 보이는 빽빽한 높은 건물들이 홍콩을 연상케 한다.

부산의 마무리도 버스로 하였다.

고속버스 티머니 앱에서는 보이지 않는 해운대 정류장이 버스타고 앱에는 있어서 급하게 노선 변경하였다 (해리단길에서 도보 10분거리).

부산해운대(수도권)가 출발지인데 부산해운대역과 부산해운대(수도권)역이 앱에서 따로 나오는 이유가 있다………. 서울로 가는 버스는 탑승장소가 변경되어 부산지하철2호선 중동역 2번 출구앞이다. 기존 터미널로 갔다가 버스를 놓칠뻔 한 상황 발생 – 다행히 변경된 장소가 도보 10분거리라 간신히 탈수 있었다.

BUS TIP to return back to Seoul) There is another app you can use to book bus tickets, BUSTAGO. This app has other station in Busan what is not available from 고속버스티머니 app, Haeundae to Seoul! However, be extremely careful as the bus terminal in Haeundae for Seoul has moved to Jungdong subway station. There are two Haeundae bus terminals now so make sure you go to the right address. If you happen to be at the wrong terminal, it takes 10 minutes walking to another.
