Seoul’s Hot Place, Seongsu!

One day trip to Seongsu, known to be THE HOT PLACE in Seoul among youngsters.

Fast changing trend, it is hard to keep up with what’s going around Seoul if you do not pay a close attention to things. Still trying to keep up with today’s trend and how young people are spending time and money, I decided to pay a visit to Seongsu.

Driving my mini Matiz (being a small car less than 1000cc, I enjoy 50% discount on purblic parking), weather felt good – the beginning of Spring. #goodbyewinter

You can spot few cyclists around Seongsu because they have this river side track which is great for cycling and walking.

CAMEL COFEE

Already too famous.
Lucky to get a seat without much waiting. I am told usually people que up for a table in the weekends. Unique layout of the cafeteria, you do not see the conventional counter but rather a wooden vintage drawer in the middle of the cafe, where a trendy staff takes your order.

Signature drink is Camel Latte which has soft cream on top. Little bit sweet. There were some international customers who came to experience this cafe.

CHILDISH DESSERT CAFE

Without Seongsu locals’ help, I would not know how to find this place as it is placed on the second floor of street that is further out from the main area.
To my surprise, once we entered the cafe, there were at least 20-30 people already waiting to get a table. Not wanting to wait such a long time, we take away their famous fish shaped bun called ‘붕어빵’. Their signatures are this ‘붕어빵’ and ‘소금빵’ meaning salted bun.

SHOPPING TIME

They have flea market going on at the moment, from 2nd Feb – 12th Feb 2024 @ EQL Groove building. You can get the full information from instagram ‘oldfuture_flea’. Pack of people, energy, joy, sweat and vintage goods. Highly recommended.

Finishing a day with nice drinks_POSITEAVE #포지티브

My favourite was this drink called ‘기쁨’, meaning ‘Happiness‘. It is one of their 3 emotions selection drinks. Mixture of tea, brandy and Disaronno. At first sip, I thought I tasted cinammon but the bartender informed me there is no cinammon flavour to it, maybe their inhouse blending of tea with Conac makes this beautiful harmony of the taste. Loved it.
