Asiana Air (flyasiana club) sent me a kind remainder that some of my points are going to expire Jan next year. Actually they have been sending me the mileage balance every month as I must have subscribed for the newsletter service, it was good to see how they let you know well in advance to allow enough time to spend the mileage.

Even though I still have 6-7months to use them, I decided to use the points now than later, when it is stuck in my head and I don’t forget and regret later. Asiana provides several options to use the mileage, from movie discounts to emart shoppings to duty free to resort & tour deals.

I checked Asiana Logo Shop and though the items there were not many, but I found what I need – iriver toothbrush sanitizer. I am already using something similar already at home, a spare one would be nice to carry with me when I travel. Another item that got my interest was the blanket, which made me giggle because I remember how my friends’ houses always had one of Asiana blankets that were given out to passengers in the old days with brown base and red and green strips. They were not supposed to be taken outside the plane, but somehow many households had them laying around (sorry Asiana).

TMI of the day: iriver once was a big name in the international market of mp3, as popular as Apple. Today it has lost its fame and disappeared in the market of digital products, it was pleasant surprise to see the toothbrush sanitizer by iriver brand. Go Korean companies!!

Finally clicked to purchase 2 x toothbrush sanitizers using the mileage, super quick delivery and delicate packaging, my order arrived within two days with nice wrapping, even felt bad for so much materials used.

This portable sanitizer is bigger thana my existing, this design covers the whole length of the brush whereas what I have at home only covers the head of the brush. I wonder if every brush could fit into the case.

One thing to note is this holds batteries which seems bit old fashioned but I like this type.

Another mileage remainder email from Asiana and as I still have some points unused, I revisited their online shop and 90% of items (discount vouchers and gadgets) are SOLD OUT. Unsure if this is an unfortunate timing when everyoen else is trying to use up their mileages but it doesn’t look good…
